All work and no play... as they say.
Although the Guild is more about business, work and the art of things, socialising and networking is just as important. Throughout the year we combine events with comparable organisations for the benefit of members. We support our 'friends' events that aim to inform as well as entertain us.
Occasionally we are able to host Master Classes, special guest Lectures and ad-hoc informal socials to just get together for a drink and chin wag.

BECTU - Art Dept Branch revival
We have decided to try and revive the Art Department branch of BECTU, to assist in both the ongoing Film agreement and the recent TV agreement talks.
To this end, I have booked the large conference room in the old house at Pinewood Studios, for 10 am this Sunday, 14th December.
Non BECTU members are welcome to attend this meeting, but will not be able to vote or put themselves forward for any positions. It is hoped that non BECTU members who feel they want to remain involved after this meeting would consider joining.
In this meeting, we will be discussing both the draft film agreement, and the new TV agreement, including the TV grades ladder and ratecard.
I am particularly keen to elect a TV person (or people) to attend the TV agreement talks which will be continuing in the new year.
We could also consider electing a chair and possibly other positions, and consider how we keep momentum going and foster communication within the branch generally.
Other potential topics: Box rental? Mileage allowance? Presenteeism?
As usual, Pinewood security have asked for names in advance, so I’ve set up an eventbrite page.
Click on the above link to go to the event page, and fill in your details to be registered.
NB If security do not have your name you will not be allowed in.
As you drive in turn right to park in the “Visitors car park” then walk route to the old house.
I hope you can attend, and please forward this information on to anyone you feel might be interested in attending the meeting
Thanks so much,

Meeting with BECTU about PACT agreement
A message from our Chairman Simon Bowles...
Hi all, I've been inspired by concerns of the guild membership over the PACT working proposal. We approached BECTU about setting up a completely open meeting with BECTU and non-BECTU members of the the guild to discuss the PACT agreement and the future of our beautiful creative department. They have agreed to meet which is a brilliant move by BECTU. This is your chance to discuss the proposal and represent your department. If you make it to Pinewood this Friday evening PLEASE do try and make it. Click on the link below and book your seat. Thanks, Simon
